Emma joined the board of trustees in January 2021. After starting her career in finance Emma moved to marketing and communications and currently works as Senior Communications Director at Big Society Capital, a social impact investment fund. Emma has worked in the private and public sectors, both as a consultant and in-house specialising in communications strategy, media and social media planning, stakeholder engagement and crisis and internal communications. She has held volunteer positions for various organisations, but this is her first trustee role.

“I lost my hair when I was 17 and at that time there was hardly any information about causes and treatment, and very little support available. Alopecia UK is a fantastic charity, offering so much of the help, support and advice I wish I’d had at that really difficult time. I was keen to be involved in any way and was over the moon to join the board of trustees. I want to help spread the word of the amazing work that the charity does so we can reach those who most need support and information, and ensure that anyone affected by alopecia knows they are not alone.”
