About Isabel:

Isabel is Alopecia UK’s Events Manager (maternity cover contract) and joined the charity in March 2024. She lives in Hastings and, when it's sunny enough, enjoys long coastal walks, flower pressing, and exploring the UK as much as she can.

Isabel’s background:

Before working for Alopecia UK, Isabel worked in the charity sector and has long been passionate about working to support others. She has worked as Senior Events Executive for a charity providing care, support and friendship to older people and their families. Before working within the charity sector Isabel was working in fashion, another passion of hers, delivering events and activations all over central London. She now happily splits her time between her role as Alopecia UK’s Events Manager and volunteering, organising events for her local community and building a space for like-minded people to connect.

Why Alopecia UK:

"Although I have never personally experienced alopecia, I can very much empathise with the feelings of being different, and worrying about how others see me. I have shared my own personal struggles and I know the importance of being able to find a community and a space where you feel like you can finally speak with others who understand how you feel.

Alopecia can affect people in many ways and although losing your hair unwillingly is difficult for many, I am inspired by the charities commitment to funding research to find the answers that you deserve. I am proud to be a part of Alopecia UK and determined to keep creating wonderful events and opportunities where we are able to come together, share experiences and have lots and lots of fun."

Isabel's favourite inspirational quote:

The true secret to happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life (William Morris)
