Alopecia UK run an annual Research Pots grants round for projects investigating alopecia. Our research aims and strategy focus on understanding the causes of different types of alopecias, how to manage the associated psychological distress, finding effective treatments, and ultimately cures.
The applications we receive are reviewed by our scientific, clinical and healthcare experts on the Research Committee and experts by lived experience, on the Lay Research Panel.
Alopecia UK supports a wide community of people affected by alopecia. Our Lay Research Panel is a group of experts by lived experience, who can be drawn upon for Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) activities. Involving patient and public contributors helps ensure that your project is ethical, democratic and practical. To request PPI support for your study, for help with recruitment, or to discuss engagement opportunities, please get in touch with [email protected].
If you have any exciting results to share with us, then please do also get in touch!
