Giving Tuesday is an annual, global day of giving. A day where everyone, everywhere, can do something to support good causes and communities that mean so much to them. It is a day to celebrate and encourage giving in all its forms.

You can donate money; share skills; campaign for something; arrange a fundraising event; raise awareness, or inspire and encourage your network to do something to support a good cause.

Naturally, we would like to encourage you to support Alopecia UK and we are using Giving Tuesday 2019 as an opportunity to promote ways that you can support Alopecia UK:

1. Volunteer for Alopecia UK

We hope to have more opportunities for volunteering in 2020. If you'd be interested in helping us out with a spot of volunteering in 2020, please register your interest!

2. Make a donation

It's really easy to make a donation to Alopecia UK. You can either make a one-off donation or set up a regular monthly donation here. Being the small charity we are, we need your support to continue the work we do. No donation is too small. Every pound is put to good use. Perhaps you've decided you're not going to send Christmas cards this year. You might like to make a donation to Alopecia UK in lieu of sending a card.

3. Fundraise for Alopecia UK

There are lots of ways to fundraise for Alopecia UK. In fact, we have a whole A-Z of ideas of ways to fundraise! If you are doing your own fundraising, consider setting up an online fundraising page on our website. Alternatively, Facebook Fundraisers are also a very popular way to raise funds (especially their Birthday Fundraisers).

4. Improve GP understanding and awareness of alopecia

Last year we developed an e-learning module with the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). It was designed to improve GPs' knowledge and understanding so they're better equipped to help patients with alopecia. We need more GPs to undertake the module. Please consider printing our pre-prepared letter and take it to your own GP surgery (and perhaps other surgeries in your local area; the more the merrier!)

5. Fill your stockings with Alopecia UK goodies!

We have lots of affordable stocking-filler options available from our website shop. Wristbands, badges, t-shirts, story booklets, tube scarves and bags of happiness! Purchasing an item from our online shop is a great way to show your support to Alopecia UK this Christmas time.
