On 14th September 2022, Simply Wigs hosted a wonderful 'Charity Wig Bank Day' at their salon in West Yorkshire! Ticketholders received an appointment with a Simply Wigs consultant and were able to try on new, or nearly new, wigs selected for them from the Simply Wigs Wig Bank. 

Our attendees were able to take home up to 5 wigs, in return for a small donation to Alopecia UK, plus a lovely Simply Wigs goody bag! It was a busy day, with over 60 visitors in total and 110 wigs purchased from the Wig Bank!

The event was not only a wonderful supportive event, with some people meeting others with alopecia for the first time, but it also raised a whopping £1,431.00 for Alopecia UK! 

This is a huge sum for our small charity and will go a long way to support our aims of Support, Awareness and Research. 

But for us, the feedback from attendees was as valuable as the fundraising. We've picked out our favourite bit of feedback which we think sums up the event..

I loved the chance of trying different styles on, it was such a different and pleasurable experience from how my prescription wig is gained. I loved how friendly everyone was, Sue my allocated wig consultant was so helpful and amazing at styling wigs with her hands. I think it was fantastic to have people from Alopecia UK who of course are instantly recognisable, I think that was a brilliant thing to do as it just puts people at their ease straight away and you forget that you are walking into a new place. I just totally enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you for my goody back and voucher too!
