Christmas is nearly upon us. 2020 has thrown so much at us all. It's a year many of us would like to forget yet will remain etched in our memories for years to come.

Traditionally, Christmas is the time of giving. We know that not everyone will be able to give to their favourite charities this year. We recognise the financial challenges that many are currently facing. However, as we have seen the vast majority of fundraising events cancelled this year, we are asking that if you are able to show us some love this December, you do so in any way you can

Please note that not all the options for supporting us involve a financial contribution. ALL support is greatly appreciated.

We would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone in our community a Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy and peaceful New Year x

1. Make a donation

You can either make a one-off donation or set up a regular monthly donation. Being the small charity we are, we need your support to continue the work we do. No donation is too small. Every pound is put to good use. Perhaps you've decided you're not going to send Christmas cards this year? You might like to make a donation to Alopecia UK in lieu of sending a card. If you are setting up a monthly donation, consider whether any of your friends and family would like to make a donation too.

2. Volunteer for Alopecia UK

We're hoping to be able to offer more opportunities to volunteer for Alopecia UK in 2021. If you'd be interested in helping us out with a spot of volunteering next year, please register your interest!

3. Fundraise for Alopecia UK

Fundraising opportunities continue to be diminished because of social distancing. However, there are still ways that you can raise funds for Alopecia UK (and we'd LOVE it if you could get involved in a spot of fundraising - we need our fundraisers more than ever!).

4. Improve GP understanding and awareness of alopecia

In 2018, we developed an e-learning module with the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). It was designed to improve GPs' knowledge and understanding so they're better equipped to help patients with alopecia. We need more GPs to undertake the module in 2021. Please consider printing our pre-prepared letter and take it to your own GP surgery (and perhaps other surgeries in your local area; the more the merrier!)

5. Fill your stockings with Alopecia UK goodies!

We have lots of affordable stocking-filler options available from our website shop. Wristbands, badges, t-shirts, story booklets and tube scarves. Purchasing an item from our online shop is a great way to show your support to Alopecia UK this Christmas time. Please note, we will be posting our final shop orders before Christmas on Wednesday 16th December. Please order before 4pm on Wednesday 16th to receive your order in time for Christmas.
