We are a husband and wife team and operate on an appointment only basis with a private fitting room. We pride ourselves on the fact that as wig makers we are able to offer a discreet, professional and compassionate service in a comfortable environment within a private fitting room which will help you make the right choice for you. It can be a very daunting prospect having to choose a wig and there are many types to choose from such as monofilament, machine wefted, human hair and acrylic. Claire decided to take the plunge and take over the business after her mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer a many years ago. Claire then saw first hand how traumatic it was to lose your hair and the limited choice available to those in the situation of having to find a wig.

Alopecia Areata is thought to be an autoimmune condition that causes hair to fall out, usually in usually in round or oval patches on the scalp or other places on the body that grow hair, such as the beard, eyebrows or eyelashes. Types of Alopecia Areata include Patchy Alopecia Areata, Alopecia Totalis, Alopecia Universalis, Alopecia Barbae, Diffuse Alopecia Areata and Alopecia Ophiasis.

Androgenetic Alopecia (Pattern Hair Loss)

Telogen Effluvium

With Telogen Effluvium more hairs than usual move into the telogen (resting) phase and shed, so you may notice more hair falling out than usual. Telogen Effluvium is often caused by a physical or psychological trigger and often resolves itself spontaneously.
