We have a network of over twenty adult support groups across the UK providing regular meet ups for peer support.  All of our groups are run by volunteers, typically someone who has alopecia of some form themselves.  Group Leads organise, set up, co-ordinate and deliver meetings.  This will involve finding and booking venues as well as managing an AUK inbox where they will respond to enquiries and send out communications to their group distribution list.  On the actual meeting day they will welcome everyone and help to facilitate chat amongst the group attendees.

In 2017 we had 24 local peer support groups which involved 24 group leads delivering 157 meetings and therefore approximately 314 hours of peer support.  Average attendance at a group meeting is between 6 and 15 attendees, usually a mix of regular and first time attendees.
