Alopecia; My Way - Alopecia Awareness Month 2022

Each September, in Alopecia Awareness Month, we step up our efforts to raise awareness of alopecia. This year, we are returning to our theme and hashtag from 2022; #AlopeciaMyWay. This is an opportunity for those in the alopecia community to tell their family, friends and wider world what having alopecia means to them.

Our community is made up of thousands of people with many different experiences. Alopecia Awareness Month provides the perfect chance to share our stories and 'Alopecia; My Way' is about getting across your thoughts, feelings and experiences with alopecia.

As ever, we will be sharing lots of content from our social media pages throughout September. If you don't already follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, please consider giving us a follow on your favourite platform(s).

How you can get involved in raising awareness and funds this September

There are lots of ways you can get involved in Alopecia Awareness Month 2022:

1. Become a Charity Champion! In the past couple of years, we have been very lucky to recruit a number of fabulous volunteer Charity Champions to raise awareness and funds for Alopecia UK. We hope 2022 will be no different and that lots of you will get involved!

2. Make a donation to our Alopecia Awareness Month 2022 Appeal. If doing something public is not for you (we understand not everyone is in a place to do this), we would love it if you would consider a more low-key donation, whether that be a one-off donation or whether you choose September as the month to start a regular monthly gift. We would be very grateful for your support.

3. Get involved on social media. As mentioned, we will be putting out lots of content in September on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts. You can help that content to raise awareness by giving it a 'like', 'comment' or 'share'. It's that simple. The more people interact with our content, the more people it will reach. If sharing your own content, please use the hashtags #AlopeciaMyWay and #AlopeciaUK and we will hopefully see your posts and perhaps be able to share them to our Stories!

We have also created a 'Twibbon' which is a frame (see pic right) that you can add to your social media profile pics!

4. Consider a purchase of an item from the Alopecia UK shop. Buying an AUK wristband or badge can be a simple way to support Alopecia UK and raise awareness.
