Alopecia UK Support Groups What is an Alopecia UK support group? Alopecia UK Support Groups are designed to provide adults (18+) with the opportunity to connect with others affected by alopecia in their area. These groups are often casual meet-ups where members can share worries, advice, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Group leads are not professional counsellors, but they are individuals with personal experiences of alopecia who, along with other members, can provide insight and advice on living with alopecia day to day. Many support groups invite speakers, such as wig suppliers or dermatologists, to their meetings and some organise events and fundraisers. These activities help spread awareness and support Alopecia UK's work, including the sustainability and management of the groups. Our support groups are established in areas where we have willing, able, and enthusiastic volunteers. However, this may mean that in some areas, individuals may need to travel to their closest group. If you are seeking resources or support groups for children and teens, please visit our Children & Young People page. Where can I find my closest group? If there is already a support group within an hour of you, it is unlikely that another will be set up in your area, however if you feel there is a specific need please do feel free to get in touch to query this. The set up of all new groups is at the discretion of Alopecia UK. Manage Cookie Preferences
