After a successful run at last Summer's Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 'Truly Madly Baldy' is making its North East of England debut in Whitley Bay for a 2 week run.

Written and performed by Sam MacGregor, and based on his own experiences of having alopecia, 'Truly Madly Baldy' is an emotional, funny and true story of what it's like to not have any hair, and reflects on society's specific beauty standards about body image.

Sam says:

"Both me and my mam suffer from alopecia and although it appears more acceptable in society for men to be bald, alopecia impacts men just as it does women. Whilst there is comedy in the play it does help highlight an important issue.

This show will answer all the questions you've ever wanted to ask someone who suffers from this life changing condition. I am really excited for the opening night and delivering the show to the public."

With a new cast, creative team and revised script, Truly Madly Baldy starts its 2 week run at Laurels theatre in Whitley Bay on Tuesday 23rd April 2024.
