The following events for researchers showcase cutting-edge alopecia research.

World Congress for Hair Research 2022

New date: Friday 18th to Monday 21st November 2022

Melbourne, Australia

In 2022, the World Congress of Hair Research returns to Australia and there has never been a more exciting time to be a hair researcher.  Discoveries in genetics, molecular biology and immunology have translated into new treatments of alopecia areata, androgenetic alopecia, cicatricial alopecia and hirsutism. Held every two years, the World Congress of Hair Research remains the premier event on the international hair research calendar.  It is the place to come to hear about new knowledge and emerging treatments.

Please note that this event was due to take place in April 2021 but was postponed by a year due to Covid-19 and the closure of the Australian border.  It has then been postponed a second time from April 2022 to November 2022 as it was felt this timeframe gave a greater degree of certainly for all attending (once again, due to Covid-19 and, this time, the rolling out of vaccination programmes).

4th Inflammatory Skin Disease Summit

3rd-6th November 2021

New York City, USA

This is a meeting designed to discuss new concepts and new developments in the field of inflammatory skin diseases and to devise and explore new therapeutic strategies. For the last two meetings, we had been able to attract true leaders in their fields, and we had approximately 600 participants from all over the world at the 2018 meeting in Vienna. The flyer for this meeting is available here.

The meeting will also include the Atopic Dermatitis and Alopecia Areata Symposium. This will be a joint symposium presented with the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, the International Eczema Council and the National Eczema Association. The aim is to discuss new data about AD and AA including the overlap and differences in the underlying basis of each, demonstrate how emerging and more targeted therapeutic interventions can improve AD and AA and to recognise the perspectives and needs of patients with AD and AA.
