About Us
Alopecia UK has an exciting opportunity to welcome some fantastic paid Sessional Support Workers into our team. These new Sessional Support Workers will deliver events aimed at children/young people and their families who are affected by hair loss. We hope this will provide more consistent and fun group meeting opportunities for children and young people with alopecia.

We received a small amount of funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to help us run these support events/meet-ups for children in England. We are dedicated to offering support across the UK, and as an organisation, we have decided to fund additional events in Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland as well.

This is a pilot project aimed at trying to reinvigorate children's face-to-face support within the charity.

The role and who we are looking for
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Sessional Support Workers to engage and inspire children and young people who are experiencing alopecia. Sessional Support Workers will be confident in leading large groups of young people and parents, and in overseeing/delivering events in the community as an Alopecia UK representative. The charity HQ team will help with the organisation of these events, with one Sessional Support Worker being there on the day to facilitate and deliver the session. This involves all aspects of running and supporting the event on the day! Such as:

  • Being a welcoming and friendly face for attendees, and acting as a positive role model
  • Running, leading and facilitating the event
  • Representing Alopecia UK in the best possible way
  • Administration before/ after the event
  • Carrying out the necessary health and safety checks
