Alopecia UK is a small charity working to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia. The charity has aims around Support, Awareness and Research.

Alopecia UK has been hugely beneficial for me. I'd never met anyone else with alopecia until I joined one of the charity's support groups. Living with alopecia since I was 11 years old, with small patches of hair loss a part of my life which I hid well, but then in my 30s I began to lose it all and eventually started wearing wigs. I still wear wigs, sometimes scarves when exercising, but still very rarely brave a cold head. One day I hope to feel comfortable with the skin I'm in. Realising you aren't alone is hugely empowering, sharing experiences is amazingly supportive, and raising awareness is educating.

My children will be running with me too and supporting us. My children have never really known me with hair and at times have been embarrassed that I'm different and found it difficult to explain. I'm proud that they will be with me on the 8th and being part of the Apatchy Warrior team. However, Oscar is not impressed with the kids tamer course.

Alopecia UK relies on the support of fundraisers and donors to continue the fantastic work it does.

Thank you for supporting me with my fundraising efforts. I really appreciate your support and so does Alopecia UK! Tamsin Hellier-Hough
