Having lived with alopecia on and off for the last 10 years( ish), and completely losing my hair early last year, for a long time I thought it was going to be something I’d always be too scared to talk openly about, and something I’d have to hide forever.

The support groups, both online and local, facilitated by Alopecia UK have given me the chance to meet and talk to others living with this condition, and in doing so have helped me to realise that there are hundreds of others feeling the same way I do, and that living with alopecia is nothing to be ashamed of, and nothing to hide.

The work this charity does to provide support for people affected and to raise awareness is amazing, and something I've definitely benefited from personally, so I would love to be able to give something back in return, so I've decided to do a sponsored hike up Snowdon on 29th September to try and raise as much money as possible for Alopecia UK.

Thank you so much for any donations! Emily Atherden
