Hi everyone! I'm Christala.

I'm very proud to be an AUK Charity Champion this Alopecia Awareness Month.

I will be hosting a very exciting giveaway, giving you the best wigs & makeup tips and tricks, discussing the ups and downs of living with alopecia and trying my hand at a few new skills to show that having alopecia does not limit my experiences in any way in fact it has only enhanced my confidence and broaden my scope.

I was 9 years old when first diagnosed with Alopecia Areata. My hair would continue to fall out and grow back in varying patterns over the years. Growing up with alopecia was tough and I felt very alone not having an outlet for my grief. Whilst I had the support of my loving family it took some time for me to come to a place of acceptance and happiness and share my condition publicly. I will be sharing my journey in more detail during this month and hopefully encourage some of my fellow Alopecia sisters and brother to do the same.

I now choose to use my voice and platform to educate others about Alopecia. What it is, and how having alopecia can affect you not just physically but emotionally. I am proud to have featured in newspapers, magazines, television shows and beauty campaigns spreading awareness of Alopecia and only hope to have more opportunities to do so in the future.

I hope to spark many conversations this month with people outside of the immediate hair loss community so that they can understand the condition and how they can best become an ally.

Alopecia UK is a small charity working to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia. The charity has aims around Support, Awareness and Research.

Alopecia UK relies on the support of fundraisers and donors to continue the valuable work it does. Thank you for supporting me with my fundraising efforts. I really appreciate your support and so does Alopecia UK.
