What age does my child need to be? Expand This event is suitable for children with alopecia aged 7-17. Children under the age of 7 may be welcome to attend but may not be able to take part in most of the activities due to their size. Please contact [email protected] to discuss further . Our booking will have private access to a Yurt tent on our campsite that will be open to those who can't or don't want to take part in any activities. We will bring along some arts and crafts and small games for inside the Yurt.
What about accommodation for the weekend? Expand Your accommodation for both Friday and Saturday night are included in the price of your ticket. Which accommodation you choose to stay in is down to your choice and what is available. You can see accommodation options here.
Can we bring any of our own food and drink to the centre? Expand You are able to bring along some snacks if you would like; however, the kitchen will provide three meals per day and there will be fruit available throughout the day. There is also a tuck shop on site should you wish to bring along some money. No alcohol is allowed to be consumed on-site.

Where can I contact Alopecia UK with any questions? Expand You can contact Alopecia UK via email at [email protected] or by phone on 08001017025.
What happens if someone in my party is unwell? Expand All Kingswood staff are first aid trained and able to help with any issues that may arise, even in the middle of the night.
How can I get to the Kingswood Centre? Expand It is your own responsibility to get to the Kingswood Centre. There is a car park onsite for any attendees. Please note to drive to the site you must go through a housing estate first (we thought this was worth pointing out as we thought we’d made a mistake on our site visit!) You can also arrive using the train. The local train station (Conisbrough) is right next door. Conisbrough is just an 8 minute train ride from Doncaster Train Station.
Can I meet other families beforehand? Expand We will set up a private Facebook group two weeks before the event and invite attendees to join so they can meet others before the weekend. We do this with most of our events as we find it helps to break the ice and reduce any nerves. People also find it useful for information and advice.
Do we have the whole centre to ourselves? Expand We do not have the whole centre to ourselves (it’s a really big activity centre). But, the group activities we have arranged will be for Alopecia UK weekend attendees only. So, while you may see other people around the centre, they will not be in our groups.
