Earlier this year, Alopecia UK worked with the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) to launch an Alopecia e-learning module designed to increase GPs' understanding of hair loss conditions.

Alopecia UK team members, Amy and Jen, will be attending the RCGP annual conference in October to encourage lots of GPs to undertake the module but we need your help too!

We have created a letter for our supporters to print and take along to their GP surgery this September, Alopecia Awareness Month. We are hoping lots of you will get involved. As a small charity, it would be an extremely costly exercise to attempt to post out to multiple addresses across the UK. If our supporters can take a letter into their own GP Practice (and if feeling more ambitious, perhaps extend to other surgeries in your local area too), it could really increase the uptake of participation of the module.

Alopecia UK's Chair of Trustees, Simon Ray, said:

"It would be fantastic if lots of the people in touch with the charity could get involved in this campaign. I encourage those who deliver our letter to their GP Practice to add their personal messages to give more weight to the letter. We might have a better response if there is a personal connection between patient and GP Practice."

We really hope many of you will help us with this piece of work. We're keen to ensure people with alopecia have a positive experience with their GPs. This e-learning module could have a real impact in achieving this.
