September is Alopecia Awareness Month, as well as Alopecia UK's 15th birthday. Myself and 99 other Alopecia UK Birthday Champions hope to raise at least £15,000 between us by the end of the month!

Keeping with the "15" theme, I am challenging myself to walk 15 kilometres 15 times throughout September (that's 225,000 meters!), as well as sharing 15 facts about alopecia on my social media pages to spread awareness of the condition.

I have had Alopecia Universalis (total hair loss to the whole body) for a few years now. Although is it not a life threatening disease, it is a life changing one. Imagine how it feels to have all your hair fall out - on your head, your eyebrows, your eyelashes, and the rest of your body - and never regrow. It affects men and women, adults and children, and can have a big psychological impact to your life.

Alopecia UK is a small and underfunded charity that works to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia. Your donation will go towards fulfilling Alopecia UK's three main aims: Support - Providing impartial information, advice and support to help people feel less isolated. Awareness - Raising awareness to the general public and healthcare professionals about alopecia and its psychological impact. Research - Providing hope and confidence to people with alopecia by funding research into its causes with the aim of finding treatments and ultimately a cure.

Thank you for any donation you can give, big or small, every penny helps 💙
