Tom Rose September is alopecia awareness month, as well as Alopecia UK's 15th birthday, and myself and 99 other Alopecia UK Birthday Champions aim to raise at least £15,000 between us.

Keeping with the "15" theme, I am challenging myself to walk 15 kilometres 15 times throughout September (that's 225,000 meters!).

I have had Alopecia Universalis (total hair loss to the whole body) for a few years now. Although is it not a life threatening disease, it is a life changing one. Imagine how it feels to have all your hair fall out - on your head, your eyebrows, your eyelashes, and the rest of your body - and never regrow. It affects men and women, adults and children, and can have a big psychological impact to your life, with some not feeling confident enough to even leave the house.

Alopecia UK is a small and underfunded charity that works to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia. Your donation will go towards fulfilling Alopecia UK's three main aims: Support - Providing impartial information, advice and support to help people feel less isolated. Awareness - Raising awareness to the general public and healthcare professionals about alopecia and its psychological impact. Research - Providing hope and confidence to people with alopecia by funding research into its causes with the aim of finding treatments and ultimately a cure.

Thank you for any donation you can give, big or small, every penny helps 💙
