As part of a small group, consisting of my brother (Stuart Olds), an old school friend (Mark Vigar) and my next door neighbour (Barry Haynes), we will be completing a sponsored cycle ride from our homes to Horse Guards Parade in Central London on 26 September. Combined as a group, we will be cycling over 185 miles during the day and will be completing the ride as part of Alopecia UK Awareness month.

My son, William, who has alopecia universalis, lost all of his hair (aged 7) in early 2019, coinciding with the first COVID lockdown. This was a difficult time for William's self confidence and mental well being, with no known cause or guaranteed successful treatment for his alopecia. Alopecia UK was a great source of information and guidance during these early months.

Alopecia UK is a small charity working to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia and has aims around Support, Awareness and Research. It relies on the support of fundraisers and donors to continue the valuable work it does. Thank you for supporting me with my fundraising efforts. I really appreciate your support and so does Alopecia UK! Martin Olds
