We are excited to launch the Alopecia UK Schools Pack.

Here at Alopecia UK, we are all too aware of the challenges faced by many young people with alopecia in schools. Some children with alopecia face daily struggles and, sadly, some young people who are not attending school at all due to the challenges they face. 

We believe that this means some young people are perhaps not achieving to their full potential as a result of having alopecia.

We are keen to tackle this and address some of the challenges faced by young people in schools in order to try and help make their everyday school life a bit easier! This is why we have created the Alopecia UK Schools Pack. 

The Schools Pack is available for the following age groups:

• 4-7 years
• 8-11 years
• 12-16 years

In each pack we have included the following helpful resources: 

• Classroom presentations
• Worksheets, factsheets and teachers notes (supporting national curriculums in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland)
• Staff training (to help staff understand the emotional and social impact of alopecia and how this might affect attainment) 
• Uniform guidance for schools

The Alopecia Schools Pack is a digital resource which means it is easy to download and use anywhere. Anyone can request a Schools Pack - you might be a parent who wants to pass this on to your child's school, a teacher or other member of school staff, or you might be facilitating clubs and activities for young people 

A huge thank you to the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) for their support with this project. This follows previous funding from BAD to support the printing costs of our children's story booklets. We are delighted they have continued their financial support of resources for children.
