Alopecia UK Collaboration with SALT Beer Factory - Special Beer to Raise Awareness and Funds!

Earlier this year, our Operations Manager Amy got in touch with her local brewery, SALT Beer Factory, to ask if they would be interested in collaborating on a beer to raise awareness and funds for Alopecia UK. The team at SALT thought it was a great idea and were keen to support the charity.

Originally, we hoped to release the beer for Alopecia Awareness Month in September but, understandably given the year's events, we had a number of setbacks. However, we're delighted that the beer is available just in time for Christmas!

Amy decided to approach the brewery as she was looking for ways that local businesses could support Alopecia UK. The charity's office is just a short distance from SALT Beer Factory. Amy is also partial to the occasional pint which might have had influenced this idea!

The charity collaboration beer is called 'Nelson Sauvin'. It is a Vermont-style session IPA, showcasing the New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hop. The beer is described as having leading notes of white grape, gooseberry and grapefruit.

Amy was involved in the brewing process, pouring in the all-important hops!

The can features the charity logo and a short blurb about Alopecia UK, celebrating 15 years of charitable work in 2020. Cans of the beer are available to purchase online and SALT tell us that the cans have also been sent to a number of retailers across the UK. We hope this will be a brilliant awareness initiative and thank SALT for donating a percentage of the profits to us too!

With over 4,000 cans brewed (with Amy getting involved in the brewing process), we are 'hoptimistic' that this beer will raise lots of awareness!
