Feedback from our 2021 event:

  • "Superbly organised event. The activities were really good and worked well for all the family. The enthusiasm from staff and volunteers was great and they made sure that everyone was involved as much or as little as they wanted to be. Our group worked really well and the kids made good friends with each other."
  • "It was just so reassuring and empowering to spend time with people going through the same thing as us. The icing on top was that it was also an amazing family time for all of us and we all left happier for it."
  • "Amazing time to spend with friendly people trying something completely new. The best support for the children in a completely natural, unforced way - my daughter was asking me questions about her alopecia after talking with another child as they compared notes - and she has never even asked anything about it before, it was lovely to hear them exploring it together."
  • "My daughter had never met another child with Alopecia this weekend made her really realise she wasn’t on her own and it was actually more common than she had thought. We couldn’t have had a better weekend."
  • "The most memorable part of the weekend was my son facing his fears on the zip line and taking that step off the ledge (after some gentle coaxing!)! Such a confidence boost to him, and a memory he will have forever. That, and making new friends."
  • "Honestly one of the best things we have been involved in as a family. A great opportunity to see the children (and us) outside of their comfort zones, and succeeding by being supported, and supporting one another. Thank you Alopecia UK, we hope there are many more to come."
  • "Staff and volunteers were exceptional. The activities programme was great and got everybody involved and it was really good that our younger children were not forgotten about."
