Children & Young People

Children with alopecia and their families can join us for a trip to the Clay Cottage for an afternoon of pottery painting!

This event is suitable for children with alopecia ages up to the age of 12.
If your child is over the age of 12 and would be interested in attending please get in touch with [email protected] to discuss further.

Meet-up Details

Upon arrival children will be able to pick an item they wish to paint, there will be animals, mugs, bowls/plates, trinket boxes and more to choose from.

Alongside this, there will be other crafts to keep everyone busy! Parents will need to stay (and support if needed!) and there will be refreshments provided.

We'll also be providing a buffet of party food (for the children) and a chocolate fountain served with strawberries, donuts and marshmallows! If any children have any severe allergies or specific dietary requirements you are welcome to bring your own snacks along.

At the end of the session your items will need to be left at the venue to dry and be fired. We will collect your address for postage when you register and these will be posted directly to you.

There is free parking on site.

      Sessional Worker Details

Your Alopecia UK sessional worker for this event is Gemma (pictured to the right)

"Hi I'm Gemma, I have a daughter who was diagnosed with Alopecia at the age of 4. I became an Alopecia UK support group leader in 2018 when I started the first Essex support group for children with alopecia and their families. I signed up to help with these sessional events to ensure even more opportunities for families to meet up in our local area! We can now share our knowledge and support, and learn more from all the others that we meet on this journey."

We are able to run this session for free, thanks to:
